March of Microanalysis: Day 4

Microfiction Entry Day 4:

Shot. Miss. Buzzer. Game.

Screw you, day one! Here’s a four word story with nary a single verb. But these nouns are obviously not random. They so often appear together, usually in the context of a game, in this case a basketball game. (I got my plus one the NBA League Pass so we can watch the Bucks lose online. It clearly influenced my writing). So these words, nouny as they may be, carry certain qualities of action. A player took a shot, which he missed just at the buzzer, deciding the game. Win? Lose? Who knows?

Through March, I'm posting a breakdown/analysis of the microfiction I posted on the corresponding day in February. This is probably only interesting to you if you care about the mechanics of writing, or if you know me personally.
